Maggie Engstrom

Maggie Engstrom AIFD-CFD, the owner of Sweet Bay, has been a floral designer for 26 years. She is a member of the American Institute of Floral Design and received her formal training in European Design in Germany with Gregor Lersch. Her work is nature inspired. She is known for floral compositions that are unique and beautiful regardless of your budget. Maggie also hosts in-store workshops and events as well offering custom home design services.

Sweet Bay was established in 2010 on Bay Street. Due to the success of the shop, she was able to relocate to a larger Bay Street showroom allowing them to offer a larger array of home accessories, jewelry, bath products and gifts. They have an extensive permanent floral selection and their seasonal displays are amazing! Maggie’s team is the best and makes shopping there a treat.

Maggie is in her 9th season with Homes for the Holidays and her designs are always a crowd favorite.

Barb Farley

Barb has been a designer with Pier 1 for 5 years and in management for 3 years, doing demonstrations for store events, setting store displays and assisting thousands of customers that come into Pier 1 with swatches and pictures for help. She also enjoys giving design guidance to a few friends and neighbors not to mention making her own home a reflection of her talent.

She uses her creativity outside as well as inside and has successfully completed her Master Gardeners license utilizing her extensive background in photography and digital design.

Coming from a family of artists, including carpenters, designers and stagers, Barb is grateful for the training and support that she has received from Pier 1 and her team, giving her access to ideas and design styles from all over the world and cites their motto, “This is me”. This is Barb’s second season as a Homes for the Holidays designer.

Maison Beaufort featuring Buxus Greenery

Maison Beaufort, conceived by Sally Harvey and Lisa Costigan, is a four day event featuring extraordinary home furnishings-a blend of antiques and art, one-of-a-kinds, furniture, linens, lighting, and garden accents. The Fall Show will be October 24-27 at the Beaufort Inn’s Tabby Place in downtown.

Irvine Gaskin of Buxus Greenery offers handcrafted wreaths and garlands from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. In Lowcountry tradition-they are made from magnolia, laurel boxwood, fraser fir, Leland cedar, and seeded eucalyptus. Available for purchase at the Port Royal Farmer’s Market.

Dataw Garden Club

The Dataw Island Garden Club is an artistic group of Dataw residents who will combine their talents to bring the Christmas spirit to the magnificent historic Tomy home on Bay Street. This is their second season with the Homes for the Holidays tour.

As a talented, volunteer organization, their members gain techniques and knowledge through guest speakers, activities and educational experience which are used to conserve, protect and beautify our natural environment.

This award winning Garden Club has numerous projects on Dataw Island as well as being featured in the Historic Beaufort Foundation Fall Tour of Homes, maintenance of two entrances to the Beaufort National Cemetery, participation in the Festival of Trees and many other projects throughout the community. They also regularly take part in the Beaufort Council of Garden Club flower shows.

The Dataw Garden Club’s magical touch to the Tomy home promises to be a showstopper. Be prepared to be dazzled!

Urban Nest

Urban Nest was established in 2015 by a mother and daughter pursuing a dream. They have a true passion for sharing their love of design in the community and enjoy piecing together one-of-a-kind items with others to create a style that blends effortlessly.

Located at 1400 Ribaut Road in Port Royal, Urban Nest is home to over 30 local artists in the Lowcountry offering furniture, accessories and home decor. This unique shop has grown into more than just another boutique. They have just opened a coffee & espresso bar that has become a gathering place for locals and visitors alike.

Their mission is to make broken things become something beautiful with a unique story to tell.

Elizabeth O’Herron Interiors

Elizabeth attended St. Mary’s College and Meredith College, receiving and BS in Interior Design. She was employed by Circa Interiors in Charlotte for 10 years, offering her the experience of traveling throughout Europe on antique buying trips. She currently owns her own firm and works locally in both residential and commercial design. Her creativity can also be seen in the designs of homes in Charlotte, Bray’s Island, Spring Island, Charleston, Aspen and St. Marten.

Her work is certainly on display in the recently renovated Schlau home on Bay Street where you will see both her interior design work as well as beautiful holiday décor.
