Mercer

Louise Mercer, Floral Designer

Louise Mercer is a graduate of Finch College in Manhattan with a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. After graduation she worked for Mademoiselle Magazine as Assistant Merchandise Credit Coordinator.
Louise’s love of flowers and her husband Wayne’s love for gardening led to a 3,000 square foot garden in their home on Long Island. This led to her flower design business “The Tender Thicket”. Over a period of 25 years she did wedding flowers for venues on Long Island, New York City and even Maine. Her designs have been featured in “Better Homes and Gardens September 2001 issue”, as well as “Horticulture Magazine”, and “Sunset Magazine Calendars”.

Louise volunteered her time to the Three Village Christmas Tour, St. Charles Hospice and the Long Island Museum where she chaired the Gala and Auction for over 25 years.

She retired in 2020 and they moved South to Beaufort. Gardening is still their love and they have enjoyed the challenge of discovering what grows this far South. She has developed a love for Fig Vine and Rosemary, two plants that thrive in Beaufort.

Louise is excited to be designing a home for Beaufort Homes for the Holidays.

Where’d You Get That? – The Team

Susan Mills “I am passionate about creating wonderful, livable spaces on a budget. My background in retail merchandising has taught me the importance of balance, color and function and how to incorporate those elements into everyday living. Ten years ago faced with the “empty nest” syndrome, I launched Willowgate Cottage. I began to work with clients who wanted their homes refreshed without the hurdles or costs and time to get to the finish line. I have teamed up with numerous real estate agents to stage homes for sale and create beautiful furniture rehabs for many happy customers. In my free time, you can find me in my “office” working on bringing furniture back to life or training horses and riders as I am also a lifelong equestrienne.”

Terri Ferrigan “I am a retired Home Stager and Decorator. I have many years of experience working on various home tour events. I’ve chaired the decorating committee for the 100 Women event in Syracuse, NY, and I enjoy working at Where’d You Get That?.”

Susan Calamari “I’ve had the pleasure of being a dedicated team member at Where’d You Get That? for the past 9 years. Throughout this time, I’ve channeled my passion for crafting beautiful home environments into assisting our valued customers. One of my primary responsibilities involves meticulously curating each item that graces the threshold of our store. I take great care to ensure that only the highest quality pieces find their place on the showroom floor of WYGT. I’m committed to ensuring that every customer’s vision comes to life.”

Cheryl Martineau “I left the world of healthcare to embark on a dream to own my own consignment store. This journey began with a simple desire to share my love for beautiful furniture, home goods and clothing with others. My dream was realized in January, 2023. My enthusiasm and genuine passion for decorating and finding unique, quality home furnishings, home goods and women’s apparel coupled with the magnificent talents of my staff has transformed Where’d You Get That? into, what is now, one of the most popular retail stores in Beaufort’s Lowcountry.”
